"Hauptmann von Arentschildt had already served as an example for both his
men and the division through his personal bravery during the Polish campaign. While fighting near Ilza (south of Radom) his companie
repeatedly subdued and crushed those enemy forces attacking out of the
forests during an engagement that lasted throughout the late night hours
and into the early morning. By doing so it made a significant
contribution to victory here. Later, during the French campaign, it was
once again Hauptmann von Arentschildt who led his men with great
prudence and ruthlessness." from his Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross citation, awarded on August 5th, 1940 as Hauptmann with of Panzer Abteilung 67 with the 8th Panzer-Division.
Another enemy elite,
