"Born in 1919 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Before being drafted into the Soviet Army, he lived and worked at the Ursatievskaya railway station of the Tashkent railway. Major, commander of the 3rd Infantry Battalion of the 249th Infantry Regiment of the 16th Lithuanian Infantry Division. For courage in the battles near the Neman River, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Major Vilenskis Volfas Leibovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union."
