Battleground Weird WWII: SdKfz 247 Schwerer Geländegängiger Gepanzerter Personenkraftwagen

 SdKfz 247 (A)

SdKfz 247 (B)

Notes:  The 247 is an armored car used to transport command and recon units but was quickly replaced by the more successful SdKfz 222 series of vehicles.
Date Introduced:  A model (Mid '37) & B model (Early '42)
Users:  Germany
Vehicle Chart:  We use the SdKfz 222 vehicle chart and modify where needed.
Crew:  1 (driver)
Passengers:  Both models can carry up to 5 passengers.
No Radio:  SdKfz 247s are not fitted with a radio and will suffer the No Radio penalty as noted within the BGWWWII rules.
Open-Topped:  Both models are Open-Topped vehicles and will be bound by those rules as such.
Poor Cross-Country Mobility:  Due to poor off-road performance, all models will suffer a +1 to all Bog Checks in rough terrain.
Snow Chains:  Snow chains were fitted to the tires of vehicles to help them better grip onto icy surfaces.  If a vehicle has snow chains then it will receive a -1 bonus to any Bog Checks made on icy or snowy roads.  Availability is a 10 or less on any front.
Wargaming Piece:  I am not aware of any 247s in the 1/48 scale so let us know if you do.
