SdKfz 235/1
SdKfz 235/2
Notes: The "Turtle" armored car only got through the prototype stages before it was canceled in 1944 due to lack of resources for its construction and that the German military did not need a light amphibious armored car but since this is WWWII you can screw all that and field those recon units with as many Turtles as you can fabricate or convert. Be sure to pick up the Battleground WWII core rule set for use with these rules.
Date Introduced: Both models (Mid '44)
Users: Germany
Vehicle Chart: We use the SdKfz 222's vehicle chart for both models and modify where needed.
Crew: Both models have a crew of 2 (commander & driver).
Poor Cross-Country Mobility: Due to poor off-road performance, both models will suffer a +2 to all Bog Checks in rough terrain.
Snow Chains: Snow chains were fitted to the tires of vehicles to help them better grip onto icy surfaces. If a vehicle has snow chains then it will receive a -1 bonus to any Bog Checks made on icy or snowy roads. Availability is a 10 or less on any front.
Amphibious: Both models are fully amphibious without any prep needed and can move 4" per action in water with all normal modifiers as applicable. Follow all amphibious rules as normal.

SdKfz 235/2 Munitions Carrier: The 235/2 was essentially the 235/1 without a turret and with a small armored parapet around the opening in the hull where cargo and ammunition could be carried. The 235/2 is Open-Topped and will be bound by those rules as such. The armored parapet will offer +5 cover to anyone standing up in the hull. The 235/2 is also equipped with a tarp as basic issue.
Ammunition Carrier: Because of the amount of ammunition within the the vehicle, it will suffer an additional -2 to the Vehicle Effects Chart if penetrated.

Wargaming Piece: Don't know of anyone who makes these prototypes so if you find one let me know.
