The "Poppy Redfern" series

"The Poppy Redfern series (also known as "Woman of World War II Mystery") is a historical cozy mystery series written by Tessa Arlen. The stories follow Poppy Redfern, a charming, feisty, and observant heroine navigating the challenges of life and murder in wartime Britain." I really enjoyed these books and if you're looking for a light murder mystery in wartime Britain, then theses are the books for you.

""Poppy Redfern and the Midnight Murders" is the first book in Tessa Arlen's WWII historical mystery series, featuring Air Raid Warden Poppy Redfern in a small English village in 1942, who investigates the murders of two women connected to American servicemen, uncovering secrets and tensions in her community. The cozy mystery follows Poppy as she teams up with a charismatic American pilot to solve the case, which puts her in danger as she gets closer to the killer."

"Set in late autumn of 1942, Poppy lands a new job as a scriptwriter for the London Crown Film Unit. When two women from the Air Transport Auxiliary (the "Attagirls") die in what are deemed suspicious "accidents," Poppy teams up with her American fighter-pilot boyfriend to find the killer."

A fun read and WWII to boot!
