"What did the Allies think about the Sturmgewehr MP43/44, StG 44?"

 

A great historical insight on the legendary MP44 and how the Americans thought about it after testing it against their own arsenal.  Great find, At Ease, Soldier!

  1. What I find interesting is post war NATO did not go with 8mm Kurz where as the Soviets adopted 7.62x39 very quickly. The original FN FAL used 8mm Kurz and would have been a better rifle, especially when firing full auto. It took the Vietnam war and the U.S Airforce adoption of the original M16 to get the U.S military to see the positives of a lighter round.
