"Born in the village of Lyubimovka, Dnepropetrovsk region, Ukraine in 1920. In the Soviet Army since 1938. Major of the Guards, division commander of the 34th Guards Artillery Regiment of the 6th Guards Rifle Division. For the courage shown during the Great Patriotic War, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 16, 1943, Major Nikolai Dmitrievich Bogdanov was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union."
