Alfred Carini
Capt. Carini would be awarded the War Cross with Sword due to his command of allowing Norwegian refugees to be places in the only remaining life boats not destroyed by enemy fire. Him, along with several of his crew, would go down with the SS Henry Bacon, sacrificing themselves for the sake of the Norwegian civilians. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a pic of Capt. Carini so if you know of one let us know so we can honor honor him by placing it on this entry.
