Manoliu received the Order of Micheal the Brave, 3rd class on 17 October 1941, the Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross on 30 August 1942 and the Order of the Star of Romania in 1943 as the commander of the 4th Romanian Mountain Division while fighting against the Soviets on the Eastern Front.
