Enemy Elite Friday: Hans Jordan (Germany)


 
"Oberst Hans Jordan overcame the fierce defenses of the Maas river with his Regiment.  He then undertook the necessary measures to capitalize on this success and complete the victory on this day. During this operation his Regiment captured a number of hostile fortifications under his leadership.  The elimination of these enemy defenses were of great importance for the success of the overall operation."  from his Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross citation, awarded on 5 June 1940.
 
"Awarded for his Regiment’s successes during the defensive battles near Duchowtschina in August/September 1941 and its role in liquidating the Vyazma pocket later that year."  from his Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves citation, awarded on 16 January 1942.
 
"Awarded for distinguishing himself during the four summer/winter battles in the Rzhev salient and later on near Vitebsk in the winter of 1943-44.  During the defensive battles here he prevented all enemy breakthrough attempts."  from his Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords citation, awarded on 20 April 1944.
