Enemy Elite Friday: Karl-Heinz Rosch (German)

"Karl-Heinz Rosch served as Kanonier. On October 6th, 1944 he was stationed with his platoon near a farm in Goirle, the Netherlands. When his unit was attacked by Allied troops, Rosch notices the two children from the farmer playing at the courtyard and took them to safety in the farms basement. When he came out again he was hit by an enemy grenade and was instantly killed.  Although he is best known for his final act (rescuing the children), Rosch had previously helped civilians in the region in various ways like warning them of impending German inspections or the presence of high-ranking officers and personally helped them hide prohibited items."
