"Born in 1920 in the city of Cherkasy, Ukraine. He was drafted into the Soviet Army by the Fruzensky district military registration and enlistment office in Tashkent. Senior Sergeant, gun commander of the 1st battery of the 616th Artillery Regiment of the 184th Rifle Division. Awarded with the medal "For Courage" thanks to the stamina and courage shown by senior sergeant Voinshen and his crew, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, senior sergeant Voinshen Efim Andreyevich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union."
