"Born in 1910 in Kyiv, Ukraine. He was drafted into the Soviet Army by the Bukhara City Military Commissariat. Guard Captain, deputy commander for political affairs of the 3rd Rifle Battalion of the 206th Rifle Regiment of the 99th Rifle Division. In the battles for the capture of Budapest, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, Captain Boris Yakovlevich Weinstein was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union."
