"Born in 1925 in the village of Fomino, Perm Region. He was drafted into the Soviet Army by the Nikolo-Cheremshansky district military commissariat of the Ulyanovsk region. Junior Sergeant, commander of a separate foot reconnaissance platoon of the 609th Infantry Regiment of the 139th Infantry Division. For the courage shown during the Great Patriotic War, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Leonid Georgievich Babushkin was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union."
