"Born in 1914 in Tashkent. Guards Senior Lieutenant, commander of a rifle company of the 116th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 40th Guards Division. Awarded two Orders of the Red Star. For the heroism shown during the crossing of the Danube, and the capture of 145 German soldiers by his squad. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Rem Abzalovich Abzalov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union."
