This classic war movie tells of the real Makin Island Raid led by Colonel Evans Carlson's 2nd Marine Raider Battalion. Its par for course for wartime war flicks of the time. Watch if below and enjoy.
A great film to honor the bravery of the USMC!

Hey, Just came across your site and saw this post. The title of the movie "Gung Ho", reminded me of an old 60's surf film by Bud Browne called "Gun Ho" Which I believe was a play on words between a amouage to "Gung Ho" & large surf boards called guns for surfing larg waves. Here is ref. to Bud's film: http://www.budbrownefilmarchives.com/about/ for what it is worth. I once met Bud Browne when I was young and it was a special moment for me. You post connected the dots on the possible motivation to one of his surf film titles. Thanks
