RIP Joe Kubert

The legendary Joe Kubert died today at the age of 85.  Joe was one of my heroes as a boy and was the man who drew me into WWII through his art and stories.  In fact, I met ol' Joe at a comic con in Dallas in the 80s and had a bunch of my Our Army at War's signed by him.  Joe also must have spoke to me for close to an hour about the biz, his favorite comics and his own time in the service and to a teenage kid that time speaking with him wold stay with me forever.  Take a gander at this man's full life and see that comics has lost one of the greatest it has ever had.

Be at peace old friend,
Brian

  1. Along with Russ Heath, Kubert breathed life in Sgt. Rock. He will certainly be missed.

  2. Agreed! Heath is about the only other artist that did Rock justice!
