Battleground Weird WWII: SdKfz 252

Notes:  These rules are for the fully-enclosed German armored ammunition carrier, the SdKfz 252.  This vehicle was almost exclusively attached to StuG units.  Be sure to pick up the excellent Battleground WWII core rules to get the most out of these rules.

Date Introduced:  Early '41

Users:  Germany

Vehicle Chart:  We use the SdKfz 251's vehicle chart from the core rules and just modify where needed.

Crew:  2 (commander & driver)
Radio:  The 252 is fitted with a radio as basic issue.

Ammunition Carrier:  Because of the amount of ammunition within the the vehicle, it will suffer an additional -2 to the Vehicle Effects Chart if penetrated.

Pistol Ports:  There are pistol ports below each of the two vision blocks on either side of the hull.  These ports allow the crew to fire their side arms from within the vehicle usually at assaulting enemy infantry.  The commander may fire their pistol or sub machine gun out of a pistol port by using an action in doing so.  All pistol ports have a 90-degree fire arc and will always suffer a 1/2 To Hit penalty.  Note that prone infantry 1" away from the vehicle cannot be hit by fire from these ports and infantry within 2" will receive partial tank cover from fire from the pistol port.
Winterketten or Ostketten Tracks:  The SdKfz 252 from mid '42 on may be fitted with the Winterketten track grousers for use in ice and snowy fronts or from early '44 on with the Ostketten track for muddy battlefields.  The Winterketten will provide a -1 to all Bog Checks made in snow or icy terrain and the Ostketten will provide a -1 to all Bog Checks in muddy terrain.  Both tracks types will also negate any High Ground Pressure penalties.  Availability for each is a 8 or less for any front. 
SdAhn 32/A Trailer:  This trailer can carry an additional 36 75mm rounds.  The trailer is considered to have a 0 AV and if penetrated it will explode with the result of a 100mm shell using the Large HE  template.
