Battleground Weird WWII: Maschinengewehrkraftwagen Kfz.13 & Funkkfraftwagen Kfz.14

 Kfz.13

Kfz.14

Notes:  The Kfz.13 & Kfz.14 is essentially a civilian 4x4 chassis fitted to an armored body.  Most of these vehicles were replaced by the time war broke out and would be withdrawn from the front to various rear echelon and police units.  Be sure to pick the Battleground WWII core rule book to use with your Kfz.s.
Date Introduced:  1932
Users:  Germany
Vehicle Chart: We use the SdKfz 222's vehicle chart, found in the Tanker's Challenge, and just modify it where needed.
Crew:  The Kfz.13 has a crew or 2 (commander & driver) and the Kfz.14 a crew of 3 (commander, radio op. & driver).
Open-Topped:  Both models are Open-Topped and will be bound by those rules as such.
Tarpaulin Cover:  Both models are equipped with tarps as basic kit.
Poor Cross-Country Mobility:  Due to poor off-road performance, both models will suffer a +2 to all Bog Checks in rough terrain.
Snow Chains:  Snow chains were fitted to the tires of vehicles to help them better grip onto icy surfaces.  If a vehicle has snow chains then it will receive a -1 bonus to any Bog Checks made on icy or snowy roads.  Availability is a 10 or less on any front.
Armaments:  The Kfz.13 is armed with a MG13 that is fitted to a gun shield with a 180-degree field of fire to the vehicle's front.  The gun shield offers +5 cover to any fire coming in from the front of the vehicle.  The Kfz.14 is unarmed with the exception of the crew's personal weapons and is fitted with extra radio equipment and frame antenna.
Armor:  Note that the AV of both models is 0 which means that the vehicle's armor adds nothing to the AP of any weapon firing at it.  The attacking Commander must still roll under the weapon's AP to penetrate as normal.
Wargaming Piece:  I am unaware of a 1/48 or 1/50 scale kit or toy of either model so if you find one let me know.
