"On September 3, 1939, he was appointed to the Polish Military Mission in London. In the spring of 1940, he took part in the Norwegian campaign as deputy chief of staff of the Independent Podhale Rifle Brigade. In 1945 he served in the Polish Military Mission to the Supreme Command of the Allied Expeditionary Forces until the war's end." He received the War Cross after the war for his involvement in the fighting in Norway.
